Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)
An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is a verified report documenting the environmental impact of a product over the course of its life cycle. EPDs are based on data from a holistic life cycle assessment (LCA), which measures greenhouse gas and other emissions, resource use, waste generation, and other impacts. Atkore EPDs report the production-weighted average environmental impact of various trade sizes within a specific product group.
EPDs offer multiple benefits to customers. They are a fundamental tool for understanding and reducing the environmental impact of construction projects. Additionally, EPDs count for points toward green building performance certifications, such as LEED and BREEAM, and provide the basis for Scope 3 embodied carbon calculations.
